Join Scary Little Girls for a riotous evening celebrating Queenagers as sell-out tour returns

Feminist theatre company Scary Little Girls are on the brink of selling out a second tour of their popular cabaret show Queenagers – celebrating the power of the older woman with a riotous look at the positive side of menopause.

The autumn tour is running from 24 – 30 October 2024, and there are now only limited tickets remaining for most dates, with St Ives and Liskeard now sold out.

Queenagers will be taking over venues across Cornwall in a vivacious evening of cabaret focused on the truth about menopause - from its trials and tribulations to the uplifting freedom and positivity it can bring. This is a particularly apt time to tour the show as October marks Menopause Awareness Month.

The team are also taking the show to Devon for its first performance in their neighbouring county.

The show is filled with comedy, music, monologues and crafting hosted by peri-menopausal glamourpuss Bunny Morethan – also known as Scary Little Girls’ artistic director Rebecca Mordan, a Glastonbury Festival compère, Sky News panellist and BBC Writers Room alumna.

Rebecca said: “Bunny is here to learn all she can about what's coming down the female line. In a perfect antidote to the doom and gloom surrounding menopause, Bunny will lead audiences on a sequinned exploration of menopause and midlife.”

She added: “We are absolutely thrilled that this show is proving so popular with our audiences. There is clearly something important that really resonates about the show and we can’t wait to tour it for the second time this year.”

The Queenagers tour features three Cornish bards- members of the Gorsedh Kernow who have been recognised for their contribution to Cornish culture and representation - Sue Hill (Gwriores a Gewri - Maker of Giants), Jenny Beare (Rosen Wynn  Lannwedhenek - White Rose of Padstow) & Bec Applebee (Kana Mor - Sea Singing).

Acclaimed musician and performer Flo Crowe will also be in the cast for the whole run.

Queenagers is a collection of personal monologues breaking the silence around menopause and giving voice to a variety of women’s (and some of their significant others’) real experiences.

These two acts are held together with music and song, exploring and celebrating middle-aged women - or Queenagers – and audiences can join performers before the show for cakes, cocktails and crafting.
