The tendering process is now open for The Gardeners’ House PZ planting contract
The Gardeners’ House Penzance is inviting tenders for a planting contract for the Sensory Garden in Morrab Gardens involving sourcing, planting and maintaining a range of plants chosen for their sensory interest and benefit to wildlife.
Following our advertisement earlier in the year seeking expressions of interest, we are now formally advertising the contract and would encourage all interested parties to submit their application now.
Our small sensory garden is an integral part of our restoration project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The accessible and sensory garden will be enjoyed by the public and will benefit local community groups.
We are looking for a horticulturalist with a passion for local heritage and a knowledge of the benefits of gardens to health and well-being. You will be joining an existing wider project team and will also be required to work with a range of community and volunteer groups.
Connecting people, planet and place, The Gardeners’ House Penzance will become an important centre for the community, helping to improve mental and physical wellbeing by encouraging people to build a relationship with the natural environment and reflect on their importance within it.

About The Gardeners' House Penzance
Connecting people, planet and place, The Gardeners’ House will help people to grow by cultivating a relationship with the natural environment. We are celebrating the rich heritage and natural tapestry of the land around West Cornwall - past, present and future.
We are growing a living archive, working collectively with our community to record the horticulture and botany of our region - and the people within it - building upon our existing archive.
The Gardeners’ House project will see the refurbishment of a dilapidated building in the heart of Morrab Gardens at the centre of Penzance, becoming a home to wellbeing workshops, green community projects and a sensory garden.
We’re creating a welcoming and calm space to support our local community, especially those from disadvantaged situations. We want to use the stories of our part of Cornwall, past and present, to inspire people, to include and support them, to help them discover new things and to support their wellbeing.
